I cant afford windows 11 (spend all my funds on new hardware). Downloaded an iso. Trying to create a bootable USB drive via Rufus. When its about 99% done I receive this error message. "Unable to patch setup files for boot". Any/all help is greatly appreciated. When I look on the flash drive the files seem to be there (boot, efi, sources, support)? Thank you for your time.

First don't use Rufus. I never use Rufus use one of this mine program for making Win USB boot. Second does your hardware support Windows 11 you know TMP and secure boot? Third download quality Win 11 ISO from this Win 11 ISO and you can go :)
Win to USB

Rufus is as good a tool as anythiing, Your USB drive needs to be a USB 2.0 or USB3.0 blue. If you have a USB socket attached to the motherboard directly that should work fine. Patching setup files, not sure where that derives from.

Assuming things havent has a major change, if you want to make a bootable USB drive, use the Microsoft media creation tool its on the ISO download page and will download the ISO file from microsoft and create the USB drive for you. Kind of an all in one operation.

Using a seperate ISO file which I hope you havent downloaded a torrent woaded with stuff from god knows where, just get the one off the Microsoft page

It a copy and paste link, so just copy it from here stick it in the address bar of your brower and follow the online instructions. You will need a minimum of 8GB space on the USB drive.

Since my previous post I have perfected installing Windows at least on my computer. I no longer use USB or any media or Rufus. Using NTLite, I configure Windows as I want and copy ISO on a small partition at the end of the disk as WinPE, and when I want to install Windows, I just select an option in the BOOT menu and start the installation, choose the language and keyboard, and the installation does everything by itself, I just wait for Desktop of Windows.;););):):):):cool::cool:
