thumper that thread you posted says its wrong with burning cd or faulty iso. Im using USB memory to install. I got that iso file from kickass torrent . i searched windows xp pro and I downloaded "Windows XP PROFESSIONAL SP3 JAN 2014 + SATA Drivers [TechTools]" . I tried earlier iso from same author,"Windows XP PROFESSIONAL SP3 NOV 2015 + SATA Drivers [TechTools]" but exactly same thing happened.

And not only did it not find ASMS, it also complained by un7zip wasnt found and another program wasnt found ,i dont remember what it was exactly. ASMS was critical but not those two other programs.

You have any idea how to deal with problem ?

Download rufus
Plug in your USB Flash drive
to make a Windows bootdisk (Windows XP/7) select NTFS as file system
then click on the buttons that looks like a DVD drive, that one near to the checkbox that says "Create bootable disk usng:"
Choose the XP ISO
Click Start

This was tested on my old PC and works good.

I got one question! Do I need xp installed before i run this iso or can i install your 2015 January SP3 iso on a completey empty harddrive ?

Hey,

Nope, It's not necessary, You can do fresh install of XP.

Hey i just wanted to say that i tried with WinSetupFromUSB and it worked on that but not with Rufus. Perhaps something to update with instructions.

Thanks for your comment, but i have tested it with Rufus and worked great, anyways im glad that you finally installed it

for asms file put cd 3 error, i found solution that, remove usb pendrive from slot where u started setup and insert pendrive in another usb port, restart computer setup will start and i think as usb pendrive is inserted in another port it considered as cd 3 inserted and resumed the windows installation.

I tried running setup but I got an error saying 'setup cannot format partition because there is not enough memory or files are corrupted'. I only had 512 ram insterted when it normally has 2512 so I thought it might have been the case but I doubted it. It rebooted and I tried again but now that my hard drive is completely clean I get this error 'setup cannot verify previous version of windows please insert cd with windows to run this upgrade' as I ran setup again. I looked at all the websites but I still dont know if there is a way around it without actually inserting cd with original windows image. I assume that this setup is treated as an upgrade while it shouldn't? How do I make it not an upgrade? Even if I get through this I would probably be facing previous issue above or could it have been the case of having just 512 ram in one slot but it's supposed to be enough isn't it? Any suggestions?

I need to create my own WinXP Image for work related stuff.
- It has to be fully patched (including .net) (Nlite does not support .net?)
- It has to contain multiple preinstalled applications (Runonce script?)
- It has to be sata compatible (Integrate from Driverpacks.net?)
- It has to be installed via USB.

and lastly the bios is NON-ACPI.
Any pointers on how you would do it?
