Lets face it just about everything to do with Windows 10 and its issues has just about been covered, YouTubed, Forumed and plastered all over the net. Issues and problems should stop once the code gets left in peace by Microsoft and the software continues to run on just like it has done.
Personally,
1.) 20th October download and save a copy of the Windows 10 installation download and burn it to a DVD for future use (Yes I do still use them)
2. Once the date is passed, up to you if you kill the update service, save a bit of bandwidth.
3. Dont Panic, your world will not come to a close, you computer wont die on the 26th October, your machine will go on working as it should so once the Doomsayers and the Glory hunters on YouTube start blabbing "Oh you are going to need at least Windows 11 come Christmas time when Nvidia GRTXXXX 7090 is released or it just doesnt work.
Folk are still using Windows 7 and 8
Those wanting to update their current machines to Windows 11 do a health check and the only thinf (FOR NOW) you will need is a Trusted Programmes Module or TPM. You can buy the module for about $12 or so from your suppliers. this lets all those wonderful firms that pay subs to Microsoft to get their software which still only does what it did last year to get on your computer under Windows 11
So when your local rip erm I mean PC Thechnician service branded as Windows 11 compliant tells you your going to need a new machine not just them but all the national superstores. You dont need one. The only must have you will need is a TPM slot on your motherboard and I dare say someone will come up with a TPM Slot card before October 2025
Theres loads of info about the upgrade on the web and we are here if you have questions.
