Hello
I need help on how to fix hard disks and how to recover data from a really damaged hard disk. help with books and videos.
thanks in advance

ok thank you for responding. I have some disks that are not detectable by the bios (as master or slave) but contains important data. how can i recover data from that kind of HDD.

If it still spins, you could try a replacement PCB and recovery software may work. If not it would need to be sent to a data recovery center to have the platter put in a working drive (heads and PCB) for recovery.

Just google for mine AIO Recovery tools 2012 and you have all the recovery appz you´ll ever need.
I cant give you a link because I gave away my work to a guy from Australia but he wont get it anymore because he sucks as a seeder and he shared the project in a iso and I gave it to him in rar and that kind of things.
Well it looks like this http://www.downtwarez.com/foro/variado/586886-aio-recovery-tools-2012-utilidades-recuperacion-pcs.html and just google and you will find it, good luck.

Hi boukfar,
I had a similar problem, my computer would not "see" an old disk I added to use as for backups. However someone suggested to download Linux, Knoppix and run it and search. It worked on several old hard drives I had laying around that I also couldn't see. Gotta be worth a shot! Good luck to you! Doug

If it is for a laptop get the part to make it a External hard drive, it will read as such, you can pull what you want off of it.

If it at least spins, you could try hdd regenerator. if not, you'll have to take it to a specialist to get the data from it.

Wow guys a lot of your suggestions are not solutions . The fact of the matter is its hit or miss to recover your drive. Im pretty sure the hard drive regenerator has to be seen either in the BIOS or in the Hirens boot CD for it to try and recover the bad sectors on the hard drive. Herman

Yeah well I hear sad stories all the time. Your system's hard drive is not a good archive repository. Laptop hard drives, forget it! There are so many places offering free cloud storage, use it or become another sad story.
Agreed Herman. It's hit or miss. Sometimes it's the drive's electronics and swapping the board for a good one from an identical drive works (not often). Mechanical damage to the mechanism varies widely and sometimes it needs to go to a specialist ($$$).

"Hello

Yes, I also could advise to try and recover the bad sectors on the hard drive. It is the only solution

Hi Elizabeth. I take it we are discussing a conventional VS SSD drives. First there are two things that can damage a hard drive. First is physical damage caused by jarring the HD when operating, most common and sometimes overheating will damage a drive as well. Second the solid state drive controller may fail (that little circuit board mounted to the top of your drive) other than replacing the circuit board the drive cannot be repaired.
Now if these documents/pictures/etc. are irreplaceable and of great value to you I would recommend using a 3rd party data recovery service. They use clean rooms and microscopes, to assess the damage to the individual platters and use exotic tools and machines that are expensive and sophisticated.
If you care to have a go at it, try to clone the drive and work with the clone. At least it only has the read errors and no other damage. You can always have the original looked at later. As far as programs, my own experience (very limited) I find that GW scan found on older versions of Hiren's boot disk (I use 10.3) work for me. There are other data recovery programs on that CD as well. They all work kind of the same, they look for clues for what type of file the damaged data they read belongs to and attempt to recreate a readable file albeit missing pieces.

Well good luck. There are many other data retrieval programs out there and maybe some other members can shed some light and their experiences.

Pardon me for saying this but with cloud storage so cheap or free
BACK YOUR STUFF UP!!!!!

Thank all of you for solutions as well. I fixed that so fast, good for me, that I'd already got REMOVED
Wow a clever spammer. That's a real breath of fresh air. So Janny55 you are doing your PhD on HD repair? Where are you getting funding and who might be sponsoring your project? Any links to the prepublished manuscript?
(Just being sarcastic folks. Janny55 gets an "A" for creativity).

Don't follow the link and as always PLEASE DON'T FEED THE SPAMMERS!
Starve 'em and they will always go away.

And so it was with me. I tried to force myself to start writing, rewrite paragraph by paragraph, and ended up breaking the deadline. She scolded herself, and then everything was repeated from the beginning. I was looking for a way out: I listened to the advice of experienced REMOVED journalists, tried different methods and analyzed the results.
Jeez bro' you want to advertise on here ask Thumper first. Didn't your mother teach you some manners? Got one last question for ya, How would you feel if my dog took a dump in your yard and I just walked away. Same thing you did here buckwheat, we don't like spammers here.

Oh please! Nice spam. Printers are not an issue in 2021 as long as the OEM releases current Win 10 drivers if needed.
