If it helps my device specs are as follows.

Im running windows 11 home, just downloaded office and I cant understand how to get past the "run administrator" portion of it after the file has been downloaded. Is this file compatible with windows 11 home?

which office did you download?

From what I've gathered, it seems like a few folks are having trouble with the setup process. My advice would be to double-check your system requirements first. Sometimes, software compatibility can be a sneaky hurdle! Also, make sure your internet connection is stable throughout the download and installation—it can make a big difference.

If you're still running into issues after that, maybe consider reaching out to Microsoft's support team. They might have some tricks up their sleeves to get you up and running. Patience is key here!

Overall, once you get Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2021 up and running smoothly, it's a pretty solid suite.

Hmm, TPM windows 10 and motherboards dont have one installed but one can be fitted. £12 from amazon

Trusted Program Module

Most motherboards have a plug onboard to take one.

From PCMag:
"

Can I Add a TPM to My PC?

If you built your own desktop PC in the last few years and you’re comfortable tinkering with hardware and software security settings in the system's BIOS, you can probably add a discrete TPM 2.0 chip to your motherboard. Many motherboards come with a cluster of header pins clearly labeled “TPM.” And, as ExtremeTech notes, you can pick up a TPM module for some motherboard models for less than $50.

But it’s not as simple as buying a TPM 2.0 add-on module and plugging it into the header. Even if you’ve got a hardware TPM installed in your home-built computer, you’ll need to ensure that it’s properly set up in the BIOS for the Windows operating system to recognize it. This process varies widely based on which motherboard and CPU you're using; see the guide mentioned above for more information and links to instructions from some major PC manufacturers."

Personally I would think about a new mainboard and CPU with TPM 2.0. Makes no sense to pour more money into a setup that gets older every day. As the article states and that was my first question. A TPM module is not an add-on peripheral. It needs to be seen at bootup by the BIOS or you really aren't using TPM by it's definition. As the days of Win 10 are coming to an end you have to have a legit TPM (hopefully 2.0) installed. As already stated you can't just plop a TPM module on a mainboard like a video or sound card. If you do go the add-on module make sure it's 100% supported by the BIOS. You have to check with the board's OEM for that.

Most motherboards these days come with one hardwired on the board, However a lot of older MBs, come with a connection to have one fitted via a plugin card. Last one I bought was in 2022 from Amazon for £12 UK GBP, plugged it in got Windows 11 installed not a problem apart from old driver support.

The Trusted Program Module is just in case you try to do anything slightly Naughty or use software Microsoft or its partners sell without actually buying them. ;)

Personally I prefer Windows 10 or Windows 7 which still runs everything I use without an issue. But if you are insisting on having your rights of freedom to use whatever you want to use on the machine you bought, then by all means go ahead and buy a plugin module. Takes longer to unpack it than it does to fit it.
