Do you really trust SSD for archives? SSD must be refreshed from time to time or you risk complete data loss. Which brings up SSDs are subject to catastrophic data loss which is less likely to be recovered. Mag drives usually suffer physical damage which still allows for at least a fair amount of data recovery.
I have read lately that some folks feel mag drive prices continue to drop, I disagree. If anything mag drive prices have stabilized, SSD are being manufactured with memory chips of questionable reliability.
SSDs can be lightening fast and are great for working drives. For data integrity, data centers continue to rely on mag drives.
