MSI: Recent wave of Windows blue screens linked to MSI motherboards

That sounds really frustrating! I hope MSI gets that sorted out soon. Blue screens can be such a pain when you're just trying to use your computer.

Well on the ASUS front, they were my go to firm for motherboards on new builds when I was in business.

1. Reliability on out of the box setups.
2. General compatability with other brands for plugin boards and power distribution
3. Availability

Granted the ASUS brand support system kind of sucked from the get go, but I only ever used it twice in 20 years of business and neither was a massive hitch and got resolved in a day or two.

MSI have turned out some fabulous products over the decades it has to be said. Their Afterburner software helped on a lot of builds, but the overall functionality of the brand was far to aimed at the top end does it all and the bottom end left a lot to be desired. Not everyone can afford the top end stuff off the bat and compatability has not been one of their stronger points. MSI motherboard and periferals all is good, but they had inconsistencies when mixing brands.

Gigabyte, Acer and other brands seemed to be aimed at the lower end user, but I managed to make some decent machines using them.

As for the BSOD with MSI, October 25th is approaching and now companies are waving at the future and turning their backs on WIndows 10 just like they did on previous OS builds. But the BSOD has been with computing since they made the first ones and will be with us whilever the need to upgrade the cash income, sorry i meant the coporate paychecks, sorry i meant the change the number on the box scheme, sorry I meant ......

There is never going to be a 100% buy it use it love it and keep it forever system or OS we can all get attached to. BSOD is there to remind us that the corporate purse needs a massive injection of cash every .........

As for BSOD it is going tro appear to encourage the transfer of your income to their income to prevent it being seen.

I bought an ASUS with Windows 7 installed. It worked fine with no problems and then stopped working due to age. I was planning to buy a new ASUS and then decided to buy a very expensive MSI. Wasn't long before I started having serious problems. It was very difficult to go the MSI service centre because it was in a very crowded industrial area. . The MSI I bought was the worst Laptop I ever had. The build quality was terrible, some letters on the keyboard were no longer able to seen. There was very little space between the bottom cover of the MSI and the desk. The PC got so hot the black paint bubbled.
One day it stopped working, the screen went completely black. I called a business that repaired MSI and they told me my model was too old
I bought a new ASUS OLED 16" Vivobook and in a few months it will be 3 years old. I've never had a single problem.
