jedi: You don't need to activate your windows 10.

pirate: I'm a pirate, your jedi mind tricks don't work on pirates.

jedi: so i take it buying windows is out of the question then?

I bought some Win 10 Pro licenses from eBay, called Microsoft, and they honored them... shock! : )

While there may be some crooks, I know of children that get product keys from new computers in India. The company does not use them since they have pre-built images with corporate keys. I spoke with Microsoft, who didn't "like" it, but said they would honor my keys. That said, sometimes you find a rascal that is just using a random-number generator. : )

Windows 10 is becoming less of an issue for Microsoft. Enforcement against piracy was costing them more than it was worth. Now Office is a whole different kettle of fish and look for M/S efforts against counterfeit copies being stepped up even further. The current CEO sees Office as their cash cow and becoming a high profit hardware provider the likes of Apple (good luck with that Satya). The hardware bit is a big piece of why Win 10 is not much of an issue since Microsoft has decided to compete in the lucrative highly profitable hardware side of Windows. The manufacturers they sell Windows to can't be pleased with Microsoft attempting to steal the high profit side of their business.
