hello friend
Your issue is common on ASUS laptops after upgrading from Windows 10 to Windows 11, especially when AMD graphics or ASUS chipset drivers are outdated.
Here are a few things to try:
- Run Windows Update Troubleshooter
Go to:
Settings → System → Troubleshoot → Other troubleshooters
Run “Windows Update” and let it fix anything it finds.
- Reset Windows Update components
Sometimes the update cache gets corrupted after the upgrade.
Open Command Prompt (Admin) and run these commands:
net stop wuauserv
net stop bits
net stop cryptsvc
ren C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution SoftwareDistribution.old
ren C:\Windows\System32\catroot2 catroot2.old
net start wuauserv
net start bits
net start cryptsvc
- Update AMD drivers manually
Download the latest AMD GPU drivers from AMD’s website, not Windows Update:
https://www.amd.com/en/support
- Update ASUS BIOS & Chipset
Go to the ASUS support page for your exact laptop model and install:
• Latest BIOS
• Latest chipset drivers
• Latest AMD/ASUS graphics drivers
Windows 11 often refuses to install updates until BIOS/chipset are fully updated.
- Check storage
Make sure the system drive has at least 20–25 GB free.
- Run system repairs
Open CMD (Admin) and run:
sfc /scannow
DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
If the problem continues, it is usually caused by an outdated ASUS driver blocking Windows 11 updates.
Updating BIOS + chipset almost always fixes it.
If you can provide the ASUS model, I can check the correct drivers for you.
